The BRIT School goes mobile with new website launch…

Three years after their previous website went live, The BRIT School are today launching a new website geared at meeting the growing number of people browsing the Internet on the latest smartphones and tablets.

The BRIT School is renowned for its impressive lineup of alumni, including Adele and Jessie J. Nicholas Myers, Marketing Executive at e4education explained, “With 75% of the UK expected to own a Smartphone by the end of 2014, having a website that is truly optimised to work well on a range of devices is key. With The BRIT School’s new website we have achieved just that.”

Speaking about the project, Alexa Cruickshank, Head of External Relations and Enterprise at The BRIT School said, “Working with e4education has been a pleasure from start to finish. They took our ambitious brief and listened to our ideas and vision for the site and then ran with it. We are very proud of the result and hope visitors to our site will enjoy the experience and learn what The BRIT School has to offer”.

Lead Designer on the project, Martin Smout, added, “It’s always a collaborative process, and the best websites are conceived and realised when both parties work hard to achieve that goal. This synergy encourages creativity and innovation to flourish. This collaborative approach ensured we delivered a high quality website the school could be proud of for many years to come.”

The new e4education website is here…

A different kind of school website provider.

Yesterday represented a huge leap forward for e4education as we launched the latest version of our website. Fully responsive, the website now represents a big change to how we do business. Complete with a new logo and brand, the website has been designed to feel more personal, and equally important, to address the growing number of people accessing the website from their smartphone or tablet.

As a company the launch of our new website is just the beginning. Internally our structure is stronger than ever, meaning we can deliver a better service to the schools that make up our e4education family. And when it comes to our services, our website designs are becoming increasingly more innovative and unique. With our responsive framework, we are now leading the way in our industry on the development of device agnostic websites.

It also represents a new kind of thinking. For the first time in over 10 years we decided not to go to BETT. Instead we chose to invest that money in our clients; improving our services and giving them a free gift to say thank you for enabling us do something we love, every day.

The response to our new website has been overwhelming and we actively encourage you to take a quick look if you haven’t already.

The Way People Are Accessing The Internet Is Changing…

The Truly Responsive Solihull School Website

In the next 60 seconds 600+ videos will be posted to YouTube, 695,000+ status updates will be made on Facebook, 47,000+ iPhone Apps will have been downloaded, 100,000+ tweets posted on Twitter and 571 new websites will have been created. Such is the power of the Internet. And it’s changing all the time.

It is not just the Internet that is changing. By 2015, more people will access the Internet from a Mobile Device, than they will a PC. With 58% of UK residents claiming to own a smartphone, the UK uses more mobile data than any other country in the world. With nearly 1 in 5 people owning tablet devices, the post-pc era really is here.

Why does this matter?

Smartphones and tablets continue to outsell PC’s. Your website is increasingly more likely to be viewed on these devices as people’s browsing behaviour change with time. To properly engage, communicate and promote your school to your stakeholders, it’s vitally important your website works seamlessly across the device spectrum. In fact, 61% of people who visit a non-mobile friendly website, will go elsewhere. If your school website is being used as a marketing tool, this is a big deal!

What can you do?

Solihull Phone ScreenshotYou could opt to have an App. Custom apps can often be expensive to create and manage. Many school website companies will charge hundreds of pounds for an App and even charge you for ongoing support. There is also the risk that with every new release of a mobile operating systems, your App may require further development at additional costs. At e4education though, our ‘News & Events App’ is completely free of charge to new customers.

Or you could invest in a mobile version. Mobile versions are great. Your website is optimised to aid navigation and ensure the very best experience when viewing your website on a smartphone.

Perhaps the best option though, is to opt for a new, fully responsive website, that is truly device agnostic. You’ll retain the uniqueness of the brand and design (unlike a mobile version) and the content will shift, depending on a visitors screen size, ensuring the very best experience for your stakeholders. e4education are one of the only school website providers that create and build bespoke, TRULY responsive, websites.

The future of online teaching and learning is coming to BETT 2013…

We are pleased to announce that e4education will be attending the BETT Show later this month, showcasing a suite of products and services that will enhance learning, communication and marketing outcomes for schools.

From Stand F278 at the Excel Exhibition Centre in London, comes the future of online teaching and learning. Our next-generation Learning Platform, Kite, features comprehensive Google integration, Parental Reporting, e-Portfolios, Scorm compliance, intuitive drag and drop functionality, MIS integration and more.

Last year we previewed Kite to over 100 buzzing BETT attendees, with overwhelming praise from the educational community. This year we are officially launching the product to schools all over the country. Created in close collaboration with school leaders, students and teachers – the very people that use Kite on a daily basis, the result is a well-designed interface and a strong set of features that have been carefully chosen to make a real difference in the classroom. Be sure to come and see why schools are saying the Kite Learning Platform ‘is truly a joy to use’.

With over a decade of web design experience in the education sector and over 1000 clients in our portfolio, e4education will also be demonstrating the very latest cutting edge, bespoke website designs for schools. In an ever-changing marketplace, that now sees 27% of all Internet traffic coming from mobile devices, our experts will be available to talk about the future of web technologies and the rise of responsive web designs to ensure that a website adapts to the device it is being used on, giving the end-user the very best experience possible.

e4education will also be showcasing a unique VLE solution for Primary Schools. The latest innovation sees a traditional school website and learning platform come together to make everything easy to manage, simple to implement and very affordable. With our Primary VLE offering, your school can engage with the community and encourage pupils to learn in a safe, fun environment.
